My favorite violinist
Today I’ll talk
you about my favorite violinist, Itzhak Perlman. He’s one of the greatest and most famous violinist
of the 20th century and today. His performances are extraordinary and charged
with deep emotion and ease.
He became
ill with poliomyelitis when he was 4 years old, for this reason he must use
crutches to move and for this reason he plays violin sitting down (the solo
violinist always perform standing up, and in fact it’s practiced standing up,
for this many violinist suffer from varicose veins)
Also, he have
synesthesia, which allows him to hear colors and see music; we can see him talk
about it in an interview for Tasting the Universe by Maureen Seaberg.
He studied
at the Tel Aviv Music Adacemy, before moving to the United States. At the age
of 13 he entered the famous Julliard School, where he studied with Ivan
Galamian and Dorothy DeLay, great pedagogues in the violin world.
When I was
a child I listened to many interpretations of Itzhak Perlman, which have been a
reference for me and I hope one day to be able to hear him live.

great!! I will search and listen
